after several weeks of recounts, it looks like former "saturday night live" cast member al franken will be minnesota's newest senator. franken was hilarious as stuart smalley on "snl". stuart smalley was the strange self help guru who wore pastel sweaters and large framed seeing glasses and would talk to himself in a mirror. minnesota must exist in some sort of alternate reality. one minute a pro wrestler is your governor, the next minute you're getting sexually assaulted in a women's restroom by future hall of fame center fielder kirby puckett, and eventually you find yourself on a sex boat with the entire minnesota vikings starting o-line and stuart smalley from "snl" is your senator.
